Treatments We Offer

At Psychiatry and Wellness of Georgia, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services for children, teens, adults, and families. Our team is committed to offering a supportive and compassionate environment for our patients. We believe in the power of personalized care and evidence-based treatment to promote sustainable wellness.

We understand that mental health conditions take many forms and are caused by a variety of factors. That’s why we create individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs of each client. Our treatment programs are tailored to help patients with a range of psychiatric disorders, including:

Depression

Depression is a common mood disorder marked by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. It can affect a person's ability to think, sleep, eat, and enjoy daily life. Symptoms may include fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and changes in appetite.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are serious conditions involving unhealthy preoccupations with food, weight, or body shape. Types include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. These disorders can have profound physical and emotional effects.

Personality Disorders

Personality disorders involve enduring patterns of behavior, cognition, and inner experience that deviate from the expectations of an individual's culture. These disorders affect how people perceive themselves and others, impacting relationships and everyday functioning.

Psychosis

Psychosis is a mental health condition where individuals experience a disconnection from reality, often through hallucinations or delusions. Psychotic episodes can severely disrupt daily life and may occur in various mental health conditions, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders are characterized by excessive fear, worry, or panic in situations where others might not feel threatened. Physical symptoms like rapid heartbeat, sweating, and trembling often accompany anxiety.

ADHD/ADD

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects concentration, impulse control, and organization. Symptoms include difficulty focusing, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. Inattention can also manifest without hyperactivity, referred to as ADD.

Schizophrenia & Disorders

Schizophrenia is a severe mental health disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. Symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking. Other related disorders share similar psychotic symptoms but vary in duration or intensity.

Bipolar Disorders

Bipolar disorder involves dramatic shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels, swinging between periods of extreme highs (mania) and lows (depression). These mood changes can affect daily tasks, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

OCD is a chronic condition characterized by uncontrollable, recurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that individuals feel driven to perform. These compulsions often serve as an attempt to reduce the anxiety caused by obsessive thoughts.

Mania

Mania is a state of elevated mood, increased activity, and energy that can be part of bipolar disorder. Symptoms include racing thoughts, impulsive behaviors, and decreased need for sleep. Mania can impair judgment and decision-making.

Insurance can be confusing. Let's help you break it down.

You may see these common insurance terms around.

(For your exact costs, reach out to your insurance company directly.)

Claim
A claim is a request for payment sent to your insurance. This can be made by your provider or you. At Psychiatry & Wellness of Georgia, we handle this for you when you pay with insurance.

For example, after you have an appointment with us, you might see that a “claim is processing” on your insurance account. Once processed, you’ll receive any bills from Psychiatry & Wellness of Georgia for your out-of-pocket cost.

Deductible

A deductible is the amount of money you pay towards health care costs each year before your insurance starts paying. This amount is set by your plan.

Coverage
“You’re covered.” “Your insurance covers treatment.” “Check your coverage.” You may hear all of these phrases, but what does coverage mean?

Coverage refers to when care is included—meaning your insurance will pay for all or some of the cost.

Copay

A copay (or copayment) is a flat charge you pay every time you see your provider. This is charged by your insurance when they are covering your care.

Copay amounts vary from plan to plan. You may have a different copay for seeing one of our providers than you will for picking up a prescription at the pharmacy.
